Tatoo Removal

Indications:

Description of the procedure:

  • The procedure can be performed under either local or general anesthesia depending on the size of the tattoo and the degree of difficulty.
  • Some tattoos can be removed in stages with each stage occurring 3 -6 months apart.
  • Other tattoos may require the placement of a soft tissue expander which expands the good skin near the tattoo over a 3 month period of time.
  • Then the expander is removed and the tattoo is removed.
  • The expanded skin is used to cover the defect left by the removal of the tattoo.
