Dermabrasion
Indication:
- Dermabrasion can be used to selectively remove skin and deeper tissues.
- Conditions such as wrinkles, sun damaged skin, scars and some types of skin lesion/disorders such as acne may be treated with dermabrasion.
|
Description of the procedure:
- Dermabrasion may be performed under local or general anesthesia depending on the area and the amount involved.
Intended Result:
- Lessening of deep wrinkles and acne scars with softer, less textured skin.
Recuperation and healing:
- Depending on the depth of dermabrasion, your skin can take from one to two weeks to completely heal. During that time, you may experience weeping of serum from the site followed by scabbing and flaking. Afterward your skin may appear to be red and dry but it is treated with moisturizers to help speed the healing process.
