Forehead Lift (Endoscopic Brow Lift)
Indications:
- Sagging forehead or brows that hang too low and too close to the eyes.
- Deep vertical furrows between the eyebrows (frown lines)
Description of Procedure:
- The procedure is done on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia.
- Several small incisions are placed in the hairline.
- The operation is done using an endoscope (a narrow hollow instrument with a fiber optic light source and camera) through which small special instruments are placed.
Intended Result:
- A more youthful and rested appearance to the forehead and upper eyelids.
Recuperation and Healing:
- The patient goes home with the head wrapped in dressings, which are usually removed on the second day after surgery.
- Initial discomfort is easily controlled with oral medication.
- Sutures are removed within 10-14 days. Most swelling and bruising is gone in 7-14 days.
Additional Procedures to Enhance Results:
Lower and/or upper eyelid lift (an upper eyelid lift can be performed 3 months after the endocsopic brow lift)
