| Arm Lift
Indications:
- Excess fat and skin hanging from the upper arm which is resistant to diet and exercise.
Procedure description:
- The procedure is done on an outpatient basis and depending on the amount to be removed may be performed either under local or general anesthesia.
- The incisions stretch from the elbow to the armpit and usually are in the space where the front of the arm meets the back.
- Sometimes due to the excess fat and skin the incision may extend horizontal in the armpit or down along the lateral side of the chest wall.
Recuperation and Healing:
- The incisions are covered with light dressings and a compression vest is worn for 4 -6 weeks.
- Initial discomfort subsides daily and can be controlled with oral medications
- Scars will fade in 12 -24 months.
