Arm Lift

Indications:
  • Excess fat and skin hanging from the upper arm which is resistant to diet and exercise.

Procedure description:
  • The procedure is done on an outpatient basis and depending on the amount to be removed may be performed either under local or general anesthesia.
  • The incisions stretch from the elbow to the armpit and usually are in the space where the front of the arm meets the back.
  • Sometimes due to the excess fat and skin the incision may extend horizontal in the armpit or down along the lateral side of the chest wall.
Recuperation and Healing:
  • The incisions are covered with light dressings and a compression vest is worn for 4 -6 weeks.
  • Initial discomfort subsides daily and can be controlled with oral medications
  • Scars will fade in 12 -24 months.
